The American Story
About The American Story
Synopsis & Rating
What role did faith play in the founding of America? The American Story, a new Real Life Network original documentary featuring Pastor Jack Hibbs and historian Tim Barton, takes viewers across the country to explore the people, places, and biblical principles that helped shape the nation. From the Pilgrims at Plymouth and the Mayflower Compact to the First Great Awakening, the American Revolution, and the Founders, the film examines the Christian heritage woven throughout America's earliest history and the belief that liberty and human rights ultimately come from God.
Filmed at many of the actual locations where American history unfolded, The American Story visits Plymouth Rock, Boston and Lexington, Washington, D.C., Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, and Valley Forge. Along the way, Tim Barton brings figures such as William Bradford, George Washington, Samuel Adams, and Benjamin Franklin to life, while Pastor Jack connects their stories to the questions facing Christians and the nation today. More than a history lesson, it's an immersive journey into the faith, courage, sacrifice, and providence behind America's founding, bringing the past to life in the very places where it happened.
